Hi, folks — as we’ve been saying, this year is going to be hugely important for Dems, in Kent County and across the country. While the November election may seem like a long way off, there is a lot that you can do NOW to make a difference in the outcome on November 6.
DCKC has partnered with KQA Indivisible and other progressive groups to make voter turn-out a priority for 2018. This fall we’ll be organizing one of the biggest Get Out The Vote efforts that Kent County has ever seen. But the first stage involves getting more Kent County citizens registered. This will call for a lot of us to step forward:
- If you are willing to help, please consider getting trained at the Board of Elections — we’ll be setting up one or more training sessions there soon. It takes about an hour, probably during business hours on weekdays (but let us know if 5-6 would be better for you). Please let us know when you’d be available. You do not absolutely have to be trained to help, but we’ll need a lot of you to receive this training if we are going to make this work!
- We’ll need many volunteers to help us to set up voter registration tables all around the county, including at many churches on Sundays, and other locations such as festivals, school events, other places where people gather.
- We’ll need even more volunteers willing to go door to door in selected neighborhoods, probably on Saturdays.
