A deeper dive into PA, from our friends & family in Massachusetts:
Over the last few weeks, we have joined with a couple of friends to work on electing Democrats to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. We wanted to share all the info with you, and invite you to join our group of friends, family, and friends of family and friends in this effort.
We named ourselves Ordinary Folks Fight for Democracy and have chosen Pennsylvania for several reasons, the first being that some of us grew up in or near PA! But three essential additional reasons follow:
- Over the past year, we’ve seen how critical state legislatures are to issues like voting rights, abortion, and gun control.
- We need just 12 seats to flip the Pennsylvania House from Red to Blue. Recent redistricting there has put that goal within reach.
- Election integrity in Pennsylvania will play a crucial role in the outcome of the 2024 U.S. presidential elections, as it did in 2020.
We’ve aligned with The States Project for this work. They identify winnable races in key Pennsylvania districts, and then support the Democratic candidates in those districts with training, data, and money. We also like what they don’t do.
- They don’t share any of our information, so a contribution here will not trigger a slew of other requests for help.
- They don’t take a cut of our donations. All their overhead is paid by other donors, so 100% of our contributions go directly to supporting candidates.
The States Project in turn works with the crowdfunding site grapevine.org and is part of the PAC for America’s Future, which manages the donations.

Watching the Republicans join the Trump bandwagon that seems intent on taking away rights rather than protecting them has been incredibly frustrating! They rely on our demoralization. We can’t let that happen. Please join us in working to flip the Pennsylvania House from Red to Blue.
