After publishing our Commentary on the Board of Education candidates in the most recent DCKC newsletter, we were contacted by BoE candidate Tracy Cameransi, who denied being affiliated with Moms for Liberty. We stand by our recommendations that voters select Aretha Dorsey, Nivek Johnson, and Trish McGee for election to the Kent County Board of Education.
Nationally, Moms for Liberty is at the forefront of some of the most despicable trends in the current well-funded effort to damage or destroy public education in this country. Note that the group uses the term “Divisive” as code for many public school activities which they do not like, whether it relates to LGBTQ students, the history of racial injustice, or books that they wish to ban. In the guise of empowering parents, M4L is doing significant harm to our public schools and to children and families across the country.
