The Club is participating in Chestertown’s “Dickens of a Christmas” Celebration, beginning on First Friday, December 6th with beautiful Christmas Windows depicting the Dickens era in
Washington, D.C. “Great Expectations” features an antique miniature White House built by a Russian Immigrant at the turn of last century who became famous for recreating historical U.S.
landmarks. Also featured is a turn of the century Christmas tree and carolers.
The windows were created by the Club’s Christmas angel and her team, two talented men, local artist, Ronn Atkins and craftsman Jim North. We are also so grateful to Tom Martin of Galena for the loan of the White House, antique windows and columns, and to many others for their items and time to produce this wonderful display.
The Club will host an official Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm on First Friday, Dec. 6. The open house (Dems HQ, 357 High St., Chestertown) will be from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm and feature light refreshments. All are cordially invited. The windows will be lit at dark throughout the holiday season. Enjoy!
