“Bringing the Human Back To Human Rights: Three Stories of Holocaust Remembrance”

In acknowledgment of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 31, 2024, the Goldstein Program in Public Affairs and Washington College Hillel invite you to a storytelling event with Dr. Aaron Krochmal.
How can the stories of individuals re-center the discourse on human rights and inspire the calls to action in defense of them? This event explores the power of storytelling as a form of truth-telling based on Dr. Krochmal’s own family history research, including documentary evidence from his family’s Holocaust experiences.
The event will be held in Litrenta lecture hall on the ground floor of the John S. Toll Science Center at Washington College at 7 pm on Wednesday, January 31. Light refreshments will follow.
Frederick Douglass Day of Acknowledgement, Feb. 10

Join us at the Frederick Douglass Day of Acknowledgement Celebration at Washington College’s Decker Theater, starting at noon on Saturday, February 10. The event recognizes community members and organizations helping to empower the African American community. It will feature a live performance of Frederick Douglass by reenactor Nathan Richardson, a documentary film, and much more.
“Get on the Bus” Premiere, Feb.14
Join us for the rescheduled premiere of the documentary film “Get on the Bus,” a moving story of a group of Kent County residents who traveled into the historical heart of the Civil Rights Movement during the summer of 2022. The film will be shown at the Decker Theater on the Washington College campus at 6 pm on Wednesday, February 14. See you there.
