How We Win is a two-day conference, November 3 & 4, in historic Cambridge, Md. Designed by organizers for organizers, it’s for people interested in building a coalition, looking to run for office, or wanting to help elect a friend or colleague. This will teach you with great sessions on how to get involved to Recruit, Train, Organize, and Elect. This is a conference for you. Work to turn the Eastern Shore Blue!

The conference is open to all registered Democrats!

Here is an overview of the conference, but for the most up-to-date information and registration for the conference, please go to the Summit website, or send questions to info@easternshoredems.com.

Overview

Welcome Reception & Senate Candidate Forum
Friday, November 3 | 7-9 pm

Please join Eastern Shore Democrats and three of our Democratic U.S. Senate candidates, Congressman David Trone (MD-06), Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, and Montgomery County Councilman Will Jawando for an evening reception and forum! We are also pleased to be hosting the Eastern Shore’s first U.S. Senate Democratic Primary Straw Poll!

‘How We Win’ Democratic Summit
Saturday, November 4 | 8 am – 4 pm

(Breakfast and Lunch Included)

Our goal is to give you the tools necessary to go back to your county — with connections to partners and skills for action — and be the change you want to see in your community. You will not ‘flip’ your county in one year or a single election cycle, but this conference will help us collaboratively identify achievable goals and map out the steps to accomplish them.

Our classes will include:

  • Candidate Recruitment
  • Roles & Responsibilities of Democratic Party Organizations and Democratic Clubs
  • MD VAN Training
  • Winning Elections In the Field
  • Learning Local Issues
  • Volunteer Recruitment & Management 101
  • Understanding the Rural/Urban Divide

Saturday will start bright and early with a networking breakfast that leads into a full day of workshops and breakout sessions. We are particularly proud to announce David Zuckerman, Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, as our featured keynote speaker for the conference! Mr. Zuckerman is a farmer, father, and proud Vermonter. He has served as a state representative and state senator, and is the incumbent Lieutenant Governor of Vermont. He will speak to attendees on the topic of messaging to Rural America.

Ticket Overview:

  • Welcome Reception & Senate Candidate Forum ($25): Friday Evening Only (2 drink tickets & light appetizers)
  • Summit ($30): Saturday Workshop Only (breakfast & lunch included)
  • Full Weekend Package ($50): Friday Reception (2 drink tickets & appetizers included) & Saturday Workshop (breakfast & lunch included)

Dem Club Meeting with John Christie

Fifty people gathered on September 21 to hear beloved teacher John Christie talk about the Supreme Court. John regaled us with insights, facts, and anecdotes in his talk, “A Retrospective of the 22-23 Supreme Court Term.” He ended the night by looking ahead and giving us an idea of what’s in store for the new term — the one that starts today.

Thanks to everyone who came, to the Chester River Yacht and Country Club for hosting, and to John Christie for a most interesting and stimulating talk.

River Packet Cruise 2023

We had a great time on the Chester River Packet fundraising cruise last night! We were treated to delicious food and drink, gorgeous sunset views, and, of course, good company and stimulating conversation. Don’t forget to join us next year!
