The Kennedy- King dinner on May 1st was a wonderful event! Thank you to everyone who came, who supported the Democratic cause, and who worked to make the evening the success it was. With close to 100 Democrats and candidates, we could feel the excitement in the air! After hearing from many candidates, I think we can agree that Maryland, the Eastern Shore, and District 36 have many strong candidates.
It was with shock and sadness, then, that all of us learned of the unexpected death of Baltimore County Executive and gubernatorial candidate Kevin Kamentez on May 10, just a few days after spending the evening at the Kennedy King Dinner. Kevin served Baltimore County for many years, first as a county councilman and then as county executive. He brought his energy and vision to his campaign for governor. He will be missed; our condolences to his family and his many friends.
Chestertown Tea Party comes on May 26. As usual, the Central Committee will have a booth all day on High Street. Join us to talk with people and to meet candidates.
