Congratulations, Tom Herz and Meghan Efland, newly elected to the Chestertown Town Council. Tom, of Ward 2, received three times as many votes as the incumbent. Ward 4 candidate Meghan ran unopposed. We look forward to fresh, forward-looking representatives on the council.
It’s good to know that the state Democratic Party is putting energy and resources in to helping Democrats on the Eastern Shore. The Chestertown Town Council race was one of the local races that the state focused on this fall. The party provided people, training and knowledge, and overall support for both candidates, and worked closely with Tom. They joined Tom’s team in door knocking and phone banking throughout Ward 2. And the effort paid off! This shows that when Democrats show up, knock on doors, and vote, Democrats win.
