Happy Hour Fun
About 40 people attended the Democratic Club’s Happy Hour Reception on Friday, March 24th to celebrate hard-working volunteers from Kent County. These honorees are the focus of the current window display at the KC Democratic HQ office in Chestertown.
For the Democrats Get it Done Window Michael McDowell and Susan Flanigan were honored for their work to get federal legislation passed to protect our Military young men and women with stricter rules and regulations when conducting training missions. Their son Conner lost his life while on a training mission. Michael and Susan shared stories of the process and the results of their work.
The Women’s History Month Window features amazing women of Kent County both past and present who are making or have made an impact. Current honorees Airlee Ringgold Johnson, Starr Center Chesapeake Heartland Project; Miss Louise Hackett, Kent Center Hidden Treasures Resale Shop Director; and Rebecca Flora, Secretary of Planning for the State of Maryland were joined by their friends and families to celebrate and share stories.
Each honoree received a large gift basket donated by a friend of the DCKC.
