How to Vote for Md State Delegates in District 36
Kent County voters are in Maryland Legislative District 36, along with voters in Queen Anne’s and parts of Cecil and Caroline counties.
District 36 has 3 state delegates.
By law, our 3 state delegates must each be from a different county in the district, BUT THEY REPRESENT ALL 4 COUNTIES, regardless of where they live.
Our primary ballot in 2026 is confusing.
There is no explanation that the delegates represent Kent Co, but they do.
We have three Democratic candidates for delegate. Vote for all 3, even though none of the candidates is from Kent Co.

- Crystal Woodward (Queen Anne’s Co)
This information will become even more important in the general election, where the only candidate from Kent Co is a Republican. We will not need to vote for him to be represented in the House of Delegates!
