The League of Women Voters of Kent County announces its calendar of candidate forums for the upcoming November 8 General Election.
Kent County Board of Education Forum, in person at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Station, 211 Maple Ave. Chestertown, October 18, 2022, 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Kent County Commissioners Forum, in person at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Station, 211 Maple Ave. Chestertown, October 20, 2022, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. There will be a Meet and Greet for Candidates for Judge of the Orphan’s Court and Clerk of the Circuit Court at the beginning of the forum.
US District 1 Congressional Forum, in person at the Kent Island High School Main Campus, 900 Love Point Rd. Stevensville, MD 21666, October 27, 2022, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Each candidate will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and will answer questions from the League that they have received in advance. The candidates will then answer questions from the audience, and the forum will conclude with closing statements from each participant.
The forums will be recorded and available on the League of Women Voters of Kent County website, kent-lwvmaryland.nationbuilder.com, and on the League of Women Voters Facebook page. No demonstrations, campaign signs, or literature are allowed in the forum venue, including indications of support for a candidate on clothing, signage, or buttons larger than two inches.
The League maintains an informative website, vote411.org, with detailed candidate information and many candidates’ answers to LWV questions. This information is also available in the current print edition of the LWV Voters’ Guide for the mid-shore area, now available in many locations around the county.
