At our November 21 Club meeting we heard from two great speakers on the subject of “Asset-Limited, Income Constrained, Employed” (ALICE) families in Kent County. Beth Everett, Executive Director of United Way of Kent County, presented some very troubling data on the needs of this group, the working poor in Kent County. At the same meeting, Lani Seikaly, President of Kent Attainable Housing (kentattainablehousing.org), shared the mission, process and progress of this local non-profit group in building affordable homes for local families in Kent County.
