Democrats to Nominate Three for Kent County Board of Elections
The Kent County Democratic Central Committee will nominate two members and one substitute member for appointment by the Governor to serve on the Kent County Board of Elections. Qualified applicants will be residents of Kent County, registered to vote as Democrats, and be willing to dedicate considerable time to supervising and assisting with the administration of elections in the County.
The local Board of Elections is responsible for maintaining voter registration and overseeing the conduct of all State and federal elections held in Kent County. Members are required to attend regular meetings and training sessions, some requiring travel, and are limited in their ability to engage in partisan political activity.
Interested applicants should submit their resume and a brief statement of why they are interested in serving on the Board of Elections to Mel Rapelyea, Chair, at mrapelyea@msn.com, no later than January 1, 2023. The Committee will review all applications and vote on nominees on January 3, 2023.
