Strong Schools Maryland is leading the statewide, grassroots campaign in Maryland to create a world-class education system for every student, especially those who are disproportionately affected by policies because of race, poverty, language, and disability.
The Kirwan Commission adopted bold recommendations for building a world-class education system. Strong Schools Maryland is organizing to turn the recommendations into policy, ensuring an education system that provides a world-class experience for all learners.
It is critical that legislators hear about the needs of our community and see that we support this once-in-a-generation initiative. Our children’s future depends on it.
On January 28, the Kent County Strong Schools Maryland team in partnership with our local SOS group will be traveling to Annapolis to canvas the House and Senate buildings in support of passing the “Blueprint for Maryland’s Future” legislation. All are invited to join the team for the day to send the message that Kent County and the Eastern Shore cannot be left out of this important legislation.
We will be leaving at 7:15 am and should return home before 2 pm, with a stop for lunch after canvassing is finished.
