The League of Women Voters of Kent County will sponsor an online presentation, “An
Introduction to Ranked Choice Voting,” on January 9, 2024 at 11 am. Learn the basics of ranked choice voting in this presentation from the Ranked Choice Voting Resource Center, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that focuses on implementation of RCV elections across the U.S. Their presentation will be followed by an opportunity for questions. “Rethinking Poverty” Documentary Film, January 13
Jointly sponsored by the Bayside H.O.Y.A.S. and Shrewsbury Parish Church, a new documentary film entitled “Rethinking Poverty” will be presented at noon on January 13, 2024, at the Kent County Public Library in Chestertown. The presentation will include a 20-minute documentary film followed by a Q&A with a brief introduction to the H.O.Y.A.S. EMPATH solution-based program.
MLK Breakfast, January 15
Join us for the annual Martin Luther King Breakfast celebration, on Monday, January 15, 2024. The march starts in Fountain Park at 8:30 am, with breakfast in Hodson Dining Hall at Washington College, followed by the free program at 10 am in the Decker Theater at Washington College. Breakfast tickets are $20.
