From our friends at Support Our Schools (SOS): The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future is a piece of landmark legislation, a once-in-a-generation education reform bill that was passed during the 2021 session of the Maryland legislature. It aims to make Maryland schools the best in the country and in the world.
Local impact will be felt in Kent County already this coming school year, with the infusion of Community School resources at two of our schools with concentrated poverty. Additional state and local resources will be phased in over the next 10 years.
On Tuesday, August 10, members of Support Our Schools talked live with Allie Carter, lead organizer of Strong Schools Maryland. Watch the video to learn more about the Blueprint as well as what it means to be a “community school.”
