Volunteers Needed: Roll Up Your Sleeves for the Historical Society
If you’re interested in volunteering with the Historical Society in any capacity, please email admin@kentcountyhistory.org to sign up. There will be a volunteer info and training day in the coming weeks.
Immediate opportunities to consider:
- Are you a people person? Are you available on a regular schedule? Would you like to welcome visitors to the Historical Society, talk about what we have to offer, and answer questions? You might be a great docent.
- Do you like to research local history? Are you a good writer? Would you enjoy going to different parts of the county to interview people? Join us as an exhibit volunteer.
- Are you TIPS trained? A food maven or a sparkling host? Do you like planning and logistics? You could be an event/hospitality volunteer.
Submit your name for future volunteer projects, including:
- Do you have an inclination for information? A penchant for public speaking? Do you enjoy getting out and about in Chestertown? We will be seeking walking tour guides (including for Ghost Tours).
- Are you focused and detail-oriented? Good at following directions and reasonably comfortable with technology? We will need help with the archives digitization project.
All are welcome and encouraged to volunteer, from students to retirees. Other volunteer opportunities arise regularly, so please contact us at the above email to get involved.
