ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed – the working poor – and it constitutes a large segment of our local population.
With income just above the poverty level, they do not qualify for government assistance.
Please join neighbors and friends on Thursday evening, at 5:30, on November 21st at Bad Alfred’s (323 High Street in Chestertown) to learn more. Guest speakers will be Beth Everett, Executive Director of United Way of Kent County, and Lani Seikaly, President of Kent Attainable Housing.
Doors open at 5:30 pm for social time and dinner. At 6:45 we’ll hold a brief meeting and conduct the election of club officers. 7:00: Featured speakers. Note: we’ll be meeting in the back room at Bad Alfred’s, so it may be easier to enter from the Cannon St. parking lot (look for our sign!)
